IHMS offers a variety of practice management services:

  • Practice Start-Ups: This service is geared to assist a physician recruited into a market who wants to get his or her practice started. This service includes all aspects of practice development and includes some of the following: obtaining provider numbers, practice location selection, equipment purchase, staff selection, managed care contracting, office policy/procedures and marketing.
  • Restructuring: Is your current office dynamic working? Are your employees positioned for success? IHMS will access your office staff, policies and job descriptions; we will then devise a restructuring blueprint that will ensure optimal staff performance.
  • Software: Has your software evolved with your practice? We can help you bring your practice into the technology age. We can find the latest and most affordable software that will increase your office productivity and efficiency as well as boost your revenue.
  • Office Policy/Procedure Development: The development of policy/procedures is becoming a key component for practice development. Everyone needs to know the rules. A policy manual allows staff to review policies and make decisions without constantly changing interpretation by the staff, office managers or physicians. It allows issues to be handled fairly, consistently, reduces legal liability, and lowers staff turnover due to frustration over unknown job duties.
  • Job Descriptions: Every practice should have detailed job descriptions for each position in the office. This ensures that upon hiring each employee is made aware of their job responsibilities, and at what capacity they are expected to function in the office. They can and should be updated as job duties change and are a valuable tool in the annual review process.
  • Human Resources: Are you wasting your time screening under qualified applicants? Let us advertise and screen applicants for you; we will bring the cream of the crop to your doorstep. Are your employment forms up to date and compliant with state and local regulations? Let us create a new hire packet that includes all required forms. We will also review current employee files and update as required.
  • Salary Surveys: A productive and motivated staff is a practices’ best investment. Are you protecting your investment? The cost of turnover far outweighs that of making sure you are adequately compensating your staff. Let us compare your salaries to that of averages in your region, to insure you are not overpaying nor underpaying your staff, as well as create a standard salary scale for new hires.
  • Staff Training: IHMS will create training sessions for your staff that are catered to your office policies and specialty in the areas of billing, coding, phone etiquette, telephone marketing or optimal scheduling.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Are your office forms HIPAA compliant? Is your staff trained on compliance issues as they relate to their jobs? We will analyze your forms for compliance and update as needed, as well as train staff on how to use forms, as well as daily compliance issues they may have.
  • Bookkeeping: Did you know the average cost for your accountant to reconcile your checkbook monthly is $150.00 an hour? We offer bookkeeping and bank reconciliation services. We will reconcile your checkbook monthly and submit a backup disc to your accountant for their records. We will also prepare monthly financial statements that outline your monthly and YTD expenses, and income, as well as your profit and loss margins.
  • Payroll Services: We offer complete payroll services that include: computing time cards, direct deposit, and time clock set up, vacation and sick time tracking as well as payroll tax computation and deposit.
  • Physician Production: Are you and your partners as productive as you should be? We can formulate productivity benchmarks specific to your practice specialty, location and size. This benchmarking process evaluates the practice’s statistical performance to best practice standards. Statistical comparison includes some of the following: charges, adjustments, revenues, expenses, gross/net collection percentages, and account receivable days.
